CoolSculpting: Remove Stubborn Fat Without Surgery
Looking for a way to remove stubborn fat, tone muscle, and get the slim, sculpted body you’ve always wanted? CoolSculpting may be for you!
As the country’s most popular body sculpting procedure, more than eight million Americans have successfully undergone CoolSculpting with stunning results and little-to-no downtime.
Let’s take a look at the ins and outs of CoolSculpting, potential candidates, and the next steps if you think the procedure is right for you!
What is CoolSculpting And How Does it Work?
CoolSculpting, or cryolipolysis, removes excess fat by freezing, killing, and breaking down stubborn fat cells. Unlike liposuction, CoolSculpting is completely non-invasive, meaning there are no incisions, cuts, or anesthesia.
Because fat cells are more susceptible to cold than other cells in the body, CoolSculpting is able to target and remove fat without damaging other areas of the body. During the procedure, your surgeon will vacuum the skin above the target area into an applicator that cools the fat cells and numbs the site.
Most CoolSculpting procedures take anywhere from 30-60 minutes, depending on the area(s) targeted. Patients often report cold or numbness at the target site as well as minor soreness, stinging, swelling, itchiness, and mild discoloration. These minor side effects typically clear up in a couple of weeks but can last a couple months.
Best of all, compared to liposuction (recovery time 4-6 weeks), patients are typically cleared to return to normal activity immediately after the procedure. Again, that’s because the cold only damages the targeted fat cells–it does not affect the rest of the body. It may take around 4-6 months for patients to see optimal results from CoolSculpting. Patients can see up to a 25% reduction in fullness per treatment in each area treated.
Who is A Candidate?
Do you have:
- Small areas of stubborn fat you can pinch with your fingers?
- A desire to get rid of it?
- Time to see results?
If you said yes to any or all of the above, CoolSculpting could be the tool to help you achieve your dream body!
However, CoolSculpting isn’t for everyone. It won’t help you lose an excessive amount of weight (30-40+ lbs). After all, it is not a weight-loss procedure. It’s meant to tighten, tone, and sculpt the body by getting rid of stingy fat that hasn’t responded to diet, exercise, or other forms of treatment.
The best way to tell if you’re an ideal candidate is to schedule a consultation with your surgeon. We’ll make sure you’re at or close to your ideal weight, are in good health (without certain conditions), and then develop a plan to freeze away your annoying fat cells!
Is CoolSculpting Right For You?
CoolSculpting is FDA-approved and has both a high success and satisfaction rate among patients. However, it’s only one option for removing stubborn fat cells.
