Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
Injectable hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane And Juvederm can be used to mask contour irregularities of the nose. During a non-surgical, or liquid, rhinoplasty, these fillers are injected under the skin of the nose to smooth the appearance of bumps on the back of the nose (or dorsal humps), and to visually straighten the the nose. The procedure takes about 15 mounts and is performed without a trim to the OR, with no scars, and no anesthesia. Forehead or Brow Lift
With aging, the eyebrows begin to lower – closing in on the eyes and becoming flatter in shape. This occurs as the skin of the forehead thins and becomes more relaxed due to genetics, again, or sun exposure. For mild cases of eyebrow decent, Botox can be use to provide a subtle elevation to the brow by selectively paralysis the muscle that pull the brow down. For more advanced lowering of the brow, however, a brow lift surgery is needed. Chin Augmentation
Balance of the face is determined by the relationship of the three main prominences of the facial skeleton – the nose, cheeks, and chin. Projection of the nose can be changed through a rhinoplasty. Prominence of the cheeks can be improved through the use of fillers or facial implants. The chin position can be altered using both implants and fillers. A chin augmentation adds volume in front and below the chin the better balance the lower third of the face. Tranditionally this was done through plastic or silicone implants inserted through a small incision in the chin. Newer techniques incide the use of fillers to perform a “liquid chin augmentation.” This technique uses a thick filler, such as Restylane Lyft or Juvederm Voluma to add the needed volume. More…
Facial Implants
Facial implants are custom made silicone shells that overlay the facial skelton to enhance or projection of width of the face. The two main types of facial implants are cheeks and mid-face implants and jaw implants. Cheek and midface implants add angularity to the cheeks and fill in the midface – making the midface look less sunken. Jaw implants widen and add angularity the jaw. Facial fillers can mimic some of the same effects, however, fillers do not produce the same angularity nor are they permanent. More…
